Workforce Support


As part of the European Structural and Investment schemes have been launched to help improve skills in the workforce. Below details the different schemes across the SEMLEP area.

TCHC – Northamptonshire

TCHC is a small specialist provider who represents & manages a consortium of SFA quality accredited providers to deliver the Skills support for the workforce, exclusively for the Northamptonshire area.
These providers are sector specialists and selected to cover the breadth of services they can offer and fund. They want to support all growth hubs, to enable access for their SME employers to this exciting and unique offer. Training will be tailored to business need and growth. Individual’s needs are focused towards their work progression & career goals. By supporting these, they will help develop a culture of sustained employment, business competitiveness, and skills growth, making Northamptonshire a leading industrial county. Their specialist skills advisers will meet with employers and carry out Training needs analysis, plan and agree the training, most of which will be work place delivered.
Training can be to support functional skills, through to higher- level training for senior management teams, and all intermediator training in between. They strive for ease of access and delivery and quality is at the heart of all they do.

SERCO – (Aylesbury Vale, Cherwell, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Central Bedfordshire, Luton, South Northamptonshire, Northampton, Daventry, Kettering and Corby)

SERCO –  Provide recognised accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses to enhance your employees’ skills, increase the competitiveness of your business and boost the local economy.
They can work with you to develop a bespoke training programme relevant to your needs and because this programme is co-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Skills Funding Agency (SFA), you can support your workforce at no extra cost to your business.
There are two types of training that you could be eligible for:
Basic skills which includes English and Maths as well as English for speakers of other languages, employment skills such as communication and team working and other vocationally specific qualifications to help them progress within your business.
Intermediate and higher level skills such as leadership and management, technical skills training and other qualifications to suit your business.
What is the benefit to you? Training can be tailored to your specific business need, more cost effective than hiring skilled staff, increases confidence, motivation and productivity, fully flexible and fully funded!

ADVIZA – Buckinghamshire

Adviza will work with businesses in the Buckinghamshire Aylesbury Vale area to establish training needs to enhance your employees’ skills.
They offer support to identify your development or growth needs and broker bespoke training with a range of partners. This includes accredited and individual courses.
